Well we are currently in the process of building a race car out of a 2004 Focus ZX4 and felt that now would be the time to weigh everything we take off and document it so that there would be a good place to reference for this information.

Scottie finally made it into the 10′s with his LS/VTEC Turbocharged Honda Civic! The car ran a best of 10.94 last night at the Kinston Drag Strip.
Specs:
Hopefully I will get the timeslip up a little later and a few videos.
Congrats Scottie!
Well we got some new dyno numbers from the Focus, and lets just say, the new GT35R really performed! We made a best of 528 whp and 399 wtq at 27 psi SAE CORRECTED. I know that there will be much more to come with this car, we just had to stop prematurely to try and make it out to a local race.
More information on this car can be found in our Project Cars area!
Or on FocalJet!

We had to run the car on 93 octane tonight due to the fact that we where unable to get some 110. Because of this Jared turned it down to 21psi on high boost.
Final and best run:
60: 1.744
1/8: 7.389 @ 96mph
1/4 11.462 @ 123mph
Temp was approx 40 degrees, the track was COLD. However the car seemed to run pretty good and overall we are extremely happy with the first time out. Jared was not launching the car on the slicks, he was just easing into it, which is pretty awesome considering his 60ft.

The car made an impressive 504 wheel horsepower and 430 ft-lbs of torque at 28 pounds of boost. This really shows why our turbo kit is the best option on the market for the Ford Focus.
We decided to turn the boost up a little on a long term project here at Top Speed. You may recall the previous blog entry about Jared’s Focus back in June where I stated that the car made 274whp on a stock ZETEC engine, well lets just say that we just blew that number out of the water.
We have always wondered how much harder we should push this motor, and finally got to the point where we decided the heck with it and do what we do best, boost the heck out of it. Jared has been driving this car for more than a year on what some people would call a ‘timebomb,’ however anyone that has ever ridden with him would agree the car felt like it just wanted more.
The results speak for themselves:

18 & 19psi – 93 Octane
As you can see, we had a little issue with the clutch, we are not sure why it desided to start slipping, but we do know it is! The car made 340whp and 338 wtq at 19psi on what is a completely stock internal production ZETEC engine. This is for sure one of the highest horsepower, if not the highest, documented stock internal ZETEC engine.

We we have a new long term project at Top Speed, it is a 2001 Ford Lightning owned by one of our guys here in the shop. Right now we are unsure of where we are going with the build, but in the short term, we are planning on adding a set of long tubes and retuning it.
Right now the Lightning is a really nice daily driver, and the owner plans on keeping it one, but we are still planning on making some big horsepower out of this little truck.
In the next few weeks we should be adding some dyno numbers and some videos to the site, so be sure to stay tuned.
The first time we dynoed this 2003 Ford Focus ZX3, it made a mediocre 114whp. After months of planning and design work, fabrication finally began on a custom turbo setup.
About two months we began the process of converting a relatively stock 1987 BMW 325i into a Ford Modular powered monster. So far, we have gotten most of the chassis work done including a Ford 9″ rear-end with ladder-bars and an NHRA approved chromoly roll cage. Here are some pictures of what we have gotten completed so far, we will be posting updates along the way, so please be sure to check back often or subscribe to our feed.
